frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Q: What is a Bloome Support Specialist?

A: First and foremost, she is a mother. Someone who can relate to, understand, and empathize with the struggles of motherhood. She is also a Master's level clinician trained in Maternal Mental Health. Under the guidance of Dr Jane, she is uniquely prepared, passionate, and ready to help plan, guide and encourage you along your journey.

Q: How is this different from a postpartum doula or night nurse?

A: Apart from being amazing and nurturing mamas, our Support Specialists are clinically trained to tackle any mental health issues. They have the tools and skills to get you feeling like yourself again. In their downtime, most of them are private practice therapists!

Q: How is Bloome different from regular therapy?

A: Whereas traditional therapy entails weekly scheduled 50-minute in-person sessions, you can Bloome your way. Bloome is individualized support for your emotional, mental, and even physical needs (we discuss those postpartum bod struggles!). We understand time is limited with a newborn, so we like to keep it short and sweet with only a couple of 50-minute sessions and several check-ins sprinkled throughout for most packages. If more support is needed, then more support is provided. You can always add on to your package to make it your own!

Q: Can I choose to do in person sessions rather than virtual sessions?

A: At the moment, we only offer in person sessions in Los Angeles, CA. More to come!

Q: How do I know if Bloome is a good fit for me?

A: If you are trying to conceive, are pregnant, just had a baby, or are realizing that postpartum is more challenging to navigate than you expected, Bloome is for you! Schedule a free consultation today!

Q: I'm pregnant and having a great pregnancy. How can I benefit from Bloome?

A: Congratulations! What an exciting time, and we're so happy you're loving Bumpin around! Bloome was created to help mamas plan and prepare for postpartum. When we're pregnant, we're usually thinking about labor and delivery and not so much about what we'll do once we get baby home. Dr. Jane believes that so many postpartum mood disorders stem from women not knowing what to expect postpartum, setting themselves up for disappointment when things don't go as planned, and holding everything inside while trying to keep it together and put on a happy face. Bloome will help you know what to expect when you have your baby. You won't set unreasonable expectations, and you'll be gifted with the knowledge of what this experience will really be like. Knowledge is power!!

Q: How long will I be with my Support Specialist?

A: If you're reaching out before your baby is three months old, Bloome is designed to be short-term support (2-4 months) so that you have a solid foundation and confidence in your journey. If things arise within this time that require a deeper dive, you and your Support Specialist (SS) can create a new, more traditional plan to help you through this next phase.

If you are reaching out further along in your journey (3+ months), the process will end when you and your SS decide the time is right for you.

q: Do you take insurance?

A: Bloome partners with multiple insurance providers. Our list of insurance companies continues to grow, so please ask us for more information.

Q: I have a history of depression/anxiety. Is Bloome right for me?

A: Absolutely! Our Support Specialists are clinically trained and ready to tackle most of your mental health concerns. They will help you navigate your mood disorders along with all the traditional hurdles that postpartum can bring.

Q: So, I'm interested...what's the process after I reach out?

A: Once you submit your "contact us" form, someone from the Bloome team will reach out and provide a 15-minute assessment. This assessment will allow them to pair you with the best specialist for you and recommend a package or a la carte option that fits you best. Once you purchase your package or service, your Support Specialist will contact you directly to introduce themselves, set up an initial session, and go from there!

Q: Do I stay with the same Support Specialist the entire time or do they change?

A: Once you are teamed up with your specialist unless either of you feels that it's not a good fit, you'll remain with the same Support Specialist for the duration of your time with Bloome.
